A Little More About Us...
My name's Ruth, and I'm the owner and founder of Happy Tails Pet Care here in Orlando. A couple of years ago I got laid off from a steady job, and was at a crossroads. I decided to work as a contractor sitter and walker to make ends meet until I could find another job.
After a while though, I realized that I wanted THIS to be my full time job. I got trained in Pet CPR & First Aid and started educating myself to become the best care provider I could be. Working with animals every day and serving my clients has been so fulfilling. I've realized that my biggest motivator is service. I get so much joy out of serving people and caring for their pets and am so thankful for the opportunity.
Observing other entrepreneurs in Orlando has been super inspiring! I'm honored to be contributing to the pet care industry here, even if it's just a little bit at a time. And I'm continuing to expand my skillset. I have studied some dog grooming with Animal Behavior College, and will be studying more animal behavior courses through the International Association of of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) in 2020.
Thank you for joining me as Happy Tails grows, and I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Hello, my name is Chris and I am an Animal Behavior College Certified Dog Trainer. After spending time applying myself to different positions in customer service, I always came to the same conclusion. Work is work and it’s not meant to be enjoyable. I felt this way day in and day out until one day I made a decision that would change my life forever.
I signed up for the Dog Obedience Training Program at Animal Behavior College. At first it was a simple thought: “I love dogs. What if I work with dogs? That would be fun!” Once I received my books and began studying how the canine mind really works, I realized my fascination ran much deeper than this. I was quickly captivated by how intelligent and versatile man’s best friend truly is.
After many late nights studying for tests, I performed my internship at the Halifax Humane Society in Daytona Beach. During my internship spent my time learning about canine behavior from my mentor, Annie Smith and the head of the Behavior Department, Marcia Helm.
Shortly after my internship was completed, I was hired by the Halifax Humane Society as a Behavior Specialist. During my time there I got to attend a seminar hosted by Sue Sternberg, work closely with the Daytona Kennel Club, and rehabilitate hundreds of dogs with the simple goal of helping them find their forever home. I have continued to expand my knowledge of canine behavior through my own research of scientific studies, private dog training work, and the work of other more experienced dog trainers such as Zac George. I am extremely excited for my new opportunity with Happy Tails Pet Care. I cannot wait to apply my knowledge and skills to help you strengthen the bond between you and your best friend.
Hi, I'm Chef LeeAnn Harrington, and I've been dedicated to food and family my entire life. For me, family includes 4 legged furbabies too!
I've relocated to Orlando in August, 2019 to join my daughter’s family run business, Happy Tails Pet Care. I am thrilled to join the team and ready to offer my skills and talents as a chef in developing a new line of fresh, organic pet food and treats as well as teaming up for dog walking, pet sitting and house sitting for current and future Happy Tails clients!
I received my Associate of Science in Culinary Arts and Patisserie and Baking from Le Cordon Bleu Orlando in 2014 and 2015 respectfully. During my training in school and in working at a variety of restaurants and food establishments both in Orlando and abroad, I've continued to hone my skills and fuel my passion for food and family.
I am dedicated to the healing properties found in food and cooking skills, and am thrilled to have this chance to work with my family to bring my skills and talents to a larger family through Happy Tails Pet Care!
